North Central Austin
Within North Central Austin are Allandale and Crestview. These two communities, and Holiday Hills, are very good investment opportunities. There are many mid-century style homes, priced in the $15-$300K range. Plenty of properties await renovation. Others have been brought back and are part of a growing trend in Central Austin. Young professionals are settling in the area. There are also plenty of rentals and continues to be a great place for investors.
Capitol Metro Rail has a station in Crestview, on N. Lamar. This was the beginning of making the area a destination. The Triangle is a mixed use development that has become a real destination. The Farmers’ Market is held every Wednesday afternoon/evening.
Among the popular venues is the Little Deli, known for great food and a welcoming atmosphere-it’s LITTLE! The original Threadgill’s is in the area. Famous for the place where Janis Joplin began to make a name for herself, Threadgill’s is a great venue for good music and home cooking.
The North Austin Civic Association (NACA) is a neighborhood association on the north end of Austin, Texas, USA. NACA represents the area bounded by Highway 183, Kramer Lane, Metric Boulevard, and North Lamar Boulevard. Because the area NACA serves is unusually large both in population and in geographic extent, it is divided into 5 areas, shown on a map on the web site.
